About Warri Branch
In the heart of Warri, Delta State, the Nigerian Field Society’s Warri Branch stands as a testament to a decade of passionate engagement with nature. Established in the year 2010, this branch found its home within the scenic surroundings of the Falcorp Mangrove Park at Ijala Ikenren.
During its formative years, the visionary leadership of the late Pa. Mac. Oma Eyeoyibo served as the Branch Chairman from 2010 to 2019, leaving an indelible mark on the society’s journey. Following his tenure, the mantle of leadership was gracefully taken up by Mr. Henry A. Erikowa in 2019, steering the branch towards new horizons.
One of the hallmark events that etched the Warri Branch in the annals of the Nigerian Field Society’s history was the hosting of the 2013 Annual Business Meeting. On the 20th of April in that transformative year, members gathered at the Falcorp Mangrove Park to discuss matters of significance, fostering camaraderie and a shared passion for the environment.
In a bid to expand its reach and influence, the Warri Branch has undertaken a dedicated membership drive. Leveraging its strategic location within the Falcorp’s premises, the branch has mandated park attendants to seamlessly integrate information about the society’s activities into their guided tours for visitors. This endeavor reflects a commitment to not only preserving the natural beauty of the mangrove park but also fostering a community of individuals united by their love for the Nigerian landscape.
